New York Textile Lab is a design and consulting company and is a central project of the New York Fibershed operating within the same 300-mile radius of NYC.

About

NY Textile Lab believes that the worlds textile production should grow out of abundant, regenerative systems that emerge from collective thinking, rather than centralized systems that rely on extraction, scarcity and competition.

New York Textile Lab is the founder and Managing Member of the New York Carbon Farm Network, an interdependent group of small brands and independent designers who want to source Climate Beneficial™ fibers from farms that are implementing Carbon Farm Practices on their lands. The Carbon Farm Network is organized as a purchasing cooperative, where designers work collaboratively to source fibers and make yarns for the commercial production of textile products.

The Carbon Farm Network provides Carbon Farm Planning to collaborating farmers through the Climate Beneficial Fiber Partnership, a project of the USDA’s Partnerships for Climate Beneficial Commodities program. This five-year national partnership will invest more than $18 million directly with wool and cotton growers in nine states, with a focus on small and historically underserved producers. New York Textile Lab and the Carbon Farm Network are proud to be New York’s regional partner for this program.
